AT&T Marketing Texts

Back when Consumerist posted this I got the same text and replied stop and got a message telling me that I was now opted out of AT&T marketing messages.
 
Well just now I got another text from AT&T that says “AT&T Free Msg: Your phone can now dial & roam internationally. See att.com/wirelessinternational for rates & att.com/wirelesstraveltips for iPhone travel tips.”
 
Again I replied “Stop” and got “AT&T AUTO REPLY: You have Opted out of AT&T marketing messages. Please do not REPLY to this message.”
 
So what I did before is not considered opting out? And I also don’t remeber opting for these even if they are free!
