Hey check out these awesome retro videos from Nintendo and Southwest Airlines.
I decided to finally get business cards. I have always wanted something simple so I sat down and thought, black. From there I wanted it to be really clean so on the front is my name, phone and email. That’s it! The back says “hmm, looking for something?” then it has the URL to my site.
The front is high gloss with foil lettering so it shines, the back is matte with grey lettering.
It’s different than what I was originally imagining which was a really thick “true” matte with foil lettering and the either use black stock or having the sides colored.
I don’t want to pay over $1.00 a card so I will stick to what I got. What do you think?

Last weeked I was listening to Shade 45 on Sirius radio while driving to Boulder. All of a sudden this clip started playing called Hood Newz. I was dying laughing listening to this and trying to stay on the road. It has been a while since I have laughed that hard. If you want to know who the users are on different social networks I got it for you.

In more plain English terms this what people would say, I stole if from a friend and I am pretty sure he won’t mind me using it:
MySpace User: Hey man, check out these sweet shoes I just bought!
Facebook User: I just bought some shoes from the mall.
Twitter User: I’m at the mall buying shoes.
LinkedIn User: I own a shoe store, you should come work for me.

I talk to a lot of people about social media. The biggest concerns I hear are about privacy and how to act online. Most people are not like me or the CEO of Zappos.com, Tony Hsieh, where we talk about whatever we are doing and don’t care who sees it.
Personally I have accounts on: Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and many others. All of my accounts are public so anyone in the world can see who I “really” am and even how to contact me.
But if you think that is too much I will disagree. Nowadays if you are in sales people will search for you on online to see if they can find who you are. This helps the customer to build trust if they know what your life is like and they may even find something in common and that can help close the sale.
Make sure when you are talking to customers and they mention golfing for example and you HATE golfing that you don’t tell your customer that you love golfing and you need to set up a tee time for next week then they go jump online to one of your social profiles and you are the founding member of the why I hate golf club.
One other thing is don’t alter your pictures to make you look different than you actually are. As soon as you meet the customer in person or they see your online profile and you look completely different you just lost their trust in you because you are misleading and deceiving.
Hopefully that gives you some insight on how to marry your real life with your online profiles.

On January 20th, millions of eyes were on Washington for the swearing in of our 44th president Barack Obama. Not only watching TV but streaming online from CNN, Fox News, Hulu, and others.
I was more focused on CNN because they were utilizing Facebook Connect allowing you to watch and comment on Facebook and read others comments. It took about 10 minutes for me to get connect because of the high use. Below is the screen shot from the stream.

And at 12:00PM exactly the White House’s website got a facelift. I am super happy with the new look, being a website designer I am all into the whole “web 2.0″ look and feel. I really hope that this is the first of many of the government’s sites to get updated. Here is a before and shot of what whitehouse.gov looked like after the jump: Read more »

You hear about and you probably even read them even if you don’t know it. It’s a blog! So you want to start blogging but you don’t know how?
There are several blogging platforms out there that you can use, I use WordPress so that is what I will be getting into more than others:
All of the sites you can sign up and start blogging, most are free. Let’s talk about WordPress though. It is what this site runs on and it is highly customizable.
WordPress.org vs. WordPress.com
With WordPress.com the hosting and managing of the software is taken care of by the team here at Automattic. With WordPress.org you need to install the software on your own server or with a 3rd party provider.
More details can be found here.
What about the design of the blog?
They are called themes in WordPress and you can find them by doing a simple search on Google. I added some helpful links below
Places to find WordPress Themes:
Need Hosting? Try Springs Hosting, they host my sites and the support is excellent.
